Getting Started
1. How do I book an appointment?
You can book your first session directly through the secure online portal by clicking [Book Your First Session Now]. If you're unsure whether therapy is right for you, I also offer a free 15-minute consultation to explore your needs and see if we're a good fit.
2. How do I choose the right therapist for me?
Finding the right fit is important. Consider the therapist’s approach, experience, and whether you feel safe and heard. I encourage starting with a consultation to see if we’re a good match.
3. Do you work with clients in crisis?
I do not offer crisis intervention services. If you're in immediate distress, please call 911, visit your nearest emergency room, or contact a crisis helpline.
4. Do you offer in-person or online sessions?
Yes, I offer both in-person sessions in Calgary and secure virtual sessions for clients across Alberta.
5. How do I prepare for online therapy?
Choose a quiet, private space where you feel comfortable. Make sure your internet connection is reliable, and consider using headphones for added privacy. Give yourself time before and after the session to reflect.
About Therapy
6. How many sessions will I need?
It depends on your goals and unique situation. Some clients find short-term support helpful, while others benefit from ongoing therapy. We’ll regularly check in to ensure you’re getting what you need.
7. Is online therapy effective?
Yes. Research shows that online therapy is just as effective as in-person sessions for many concerns. It also offers greater flexibility and access.
8. What therapeutic approach do you use?
I use an integrative, personalized approach, drawing from evidence-based modalities like CBT, ACT, ART, SFBT, Narrative Therapy, Systems Therapy, and Mindfulness. Each session is tailored to support your goals.
Privacy & Confidentiality
9. Is therapy confidential?
Yes, your privacy is a priority. Everything you share is confidential, with a few legal exceptions: if there is risk of harm to yourself or others, or if disclosure is required by law.
10. Will my insurance provider know I’m attending therapy?
Only if you choose to submit receipts for reimbursement. I do not share information with insurance providers unless requested by you.
Logistics & Fees
11. Do you accept insurance?
As a registered psychologist, my services are covered by many insurance providers. Please check your individual plan for coverage details.
12. Do you offer speaking engagements or workshops?
Yes! I’m available for talks, interviews, and workshops on mental health and psychology topics. Please get in touch to discuss opportunities.
